Expecting is a 5×7 original abstract portrait — a figure in the particular stillness of waiting, of carrying something not yet here. There is a fullness to it, a quiet that only motherhood knows. Built in layers of acrylic and mixed media on heavy fine art watercolor paper.

Signed on the front and dated on the back. A final coat of UV varnish protects the surface and gives the work a lasting, gallery-quality finish.
