As a lifelong sci-fi fan, I always viewed abstract painting as my own personal "Final Frontier"—the goal I want to chase for hundreds of years (or as many as I’m lucky enough to get!). But knowing where you want to go doesn't mean the path is always clear.

I wanted to find a way to make pure abstracts that felt completely, undeniably mine, without relying solely on what I’d done before. I needed a bridge between the old ways and the new. It took months of pushing, of experimenting, and of feeling stuck, until I finally developed a new procedure—a way to build upon my past technique to create something entirely fresh, but with my signature all over it.

Final Frontier is the breakthrough.

It’s built with layered textures, scrapings, and overlapping hand-created collage pieces, merging the structured with the spontaneous. What once felt like a wall is now a doorway. Looking at it, I finally feel that deep, grounding comfort of a technique that fits right, a pure abstract that carries my exact DNA.

I didn't keep many notes while stumbling my way through this brand-new process (sometimes you just have to fly by the seat of your pants!), but the result is a piece that feels incredibly good to finally share with the world.
